About me

Born and raised in the Caribbean, Chantal is a Toronto-based creative with a passion for storytelling. Her journey into film began in her teen years, filming & editing videos for her friends and family, and using visual stories as a way to express herself. After finishing her Bachelor's degree in Sociology at the University of Western Ontario, she set her sights on a wider audience and enrolled in the MFA Filmmaking program at the New York Film Academy where her love of filmmaking blossomed. Since then she has gained experience working on a range of productions, taking her from Los Angeles and Accra, to her home country Trinidad. Her short dramedy “The Ex Factor” has been shown in various film festivals including the Boston LGBT Film Festival and the California Women’s Film Festival.

Since moving to Canada, she has held various roles within scripted and unscripted productions such as Production Coordinator, Writer, and Story Producer. She values authentic representation of her communities on screen, and aims to tell stories that make audiences laugh, cry, and everything in-between. When not working, Chantal spends her free time telling unprompted Dad jokes, crafting a new script idea, and bingeing reality tv.
